Magdalene Bird

Magdalene Bird is a scriptwriter and Senior Talent Manager at Mirador Talent Group.

Despite being a fledgling to the creative world, she has been produced or commissioned by: BBC Radio 4, BFI (in conjunction with Ffilm Cymru), ITV2 (Silverprint Pictures), Cambridge Junction (Menagerie Theatre), Little Island Productions, AMC, RADA, Westminster Radio, DSL, The Pleasance Theatre, The Tristan Bates Theatre, Secret Attic, Egg Box Publishing and more.

Her work has been shortlisted for Theatre 503’s 2020 International Playwriting Award and longlisted for the 2020 Matchstick Theatre Award, 2021 Papatango New Writing Award and BOLD Playwrights 2022. Magdalene was selected for Menagerie Theatre’s 2020 Young Writers’ Scheme and chosen for Hampstead Theatre's 2022 INSPIRE Programme.

Her debut play "Salt" had a sold out run at Theatre 503. In 2023, "Green Walls" has had a successful play reading at Hampstead Theatre and her co-written radio play "Radio Waves" was aired on BBC Radio 4. In 2024 her treatment "Gardens" was commissioned by Leopard Pictures.

 

In 2025, Magda completed the John Yorke Story Development course and script edited for Suzy Eddie Izzard, Dylan Moran, Louise Ford, Dan Cook and more.
